State rests case in Patton murder trial

The state rested its case in the murder trial of Frank Patton, who is accused of shooting to death his wife, Ramika Patton.

Frank Patton, 31, is on trial for murder in the Feb. 23, 2008, shooting death of his wife at their home on Hilma Street. Patton also suffered a gunshot wound to his right chest area, a wound authorities believe was self-inflicted.

The state rested its case about 9 a.m. this morning and the defense currently is showing taped interviews of Patton with police. The tapes show that Patton claimed an intruder came into the house.
