WLOX News reporter Brad Kessie has been named the station's news director, the station announced today.
WLOX General Manager Dave Vincent made the announcement to staff members this morning.
Last month, Leon Long assumed more duties with parent company Raycom Media in his role as vice president. At that time, it was also announced that Dave Vincent, who had already been serving as both News Director and Station Manager, would assume the duties of General Manager full-time.
The station also announced it would hire a new news director.

Vincent said, "It was a tough decision to make, as we had a number of excellent internal and external candidates."
Kessie has worked at WLOX for 21 years, and held a number of positions including weekend assignment editor, anchor and reporter. The Chicago native is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, and has won numerous professional awards for his reporting work.
