After affidavit ballots were counted Wednesday, Les Fillingame held onto his lead over Mike Weems for the Democratic mayoral nomination in the June runoff election.
Fifty-five affidavits were gathered in the Tuesday Democratic runoff. Of those, 15 proved valid and were counted Wednesday, City Clerk Buz Olsen said. Ten were votes for Fillingame and five were for Weems.
The final vote for Fillingame, including absentee ballots and affidavits, was 1,036. Weems received 998 votes. Barring any possible challenges to the final vote, Fillingame will go into the June 2 general election against Republican Lisa Cowand and independent candidate Tad Black.
