Marinello suffers heart attack in prison

Convicted former broadcaster Vince Marinello has been taken to the hospital after suffering a heart attack in the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center in St. Gabriel.

A close family friend told WDSU that Marinello had a heart attack Wednesday. Marinello was taken to University Hospital in New Orleans, attorney Paul Fleming said.

The family friend said Marinello underwent a surgical procedure at the hospital.

Marinello was sentenced last week to life in prison for killing his wife, Mary Elizabeth Marinello, in 2006.
