Motorist killed by loose trailer on I-10 identified

Katherine Stuart Hall, 49, of Baton Rouge, has been identified as the motorist who died Wednesday after her vehicle was hit head-on by a trailer that had come loose from a truck and crossed the I-10 median, Jackson County Coroner Vicki Broadus said.

Broadus said Hall was ejected from her Toyota and died of head trauma.

The accident happened after a trailer broke loose from a westbound Ford F-150, and the trailer crossed the median, hitting Hall’s vehicle in the eastbound lanes of I-10 at the Alabama state line.

The truck’s driver was not injured and did stop when the trailer broke loose, Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Johnny Poulos said.
