Two in 'pill mill' case get new bond hearing

A Biloxi doctor and pharmacist accused of conspiring to operate a prescription drug ring will be brought before a federal magistrate this morning for a hearing to re-consider bond.

Dr. Victoria Van and Nick Tran and two alleged co-conspirators were denied bond after their arrests by DEA agents in May. Van has a new attorney and Tran has hired two additional attorneys. Both parties maintain they have new information that has not been heard by U.S. Magistrate Judge John M. Roper.

The others who remain in custody without bond are Van's husband, Dr. Thomas Trieu, and Richard Trieu, office manager of the Family Medical Center in Biloxi.
