The permit committee at the state Department of Archives and History will discuss the Gulfport Library at its meeting in Jackson this morning.
The committee will consider whether the building should be designated a Mississippi Landmark and thus saved from demolition.
The decision likely won't be made today, one member of the committee said. Rather, there likely will be a 30-day comment period first.
