The Mississippi Coast is in for what will feel like a long summer, as warmer temperatures are expected to linger well into the fall, according to forecasts.

Here’s exactly what experts are forecasting and what it could mean for your fall.

When is the first day of fall?

Fall officially begins September 22, according to timeanddate.com. It will last for 89 days, until the winter solstice on Dec. 21.

Fall weather predictions from the Farmer’s Almanac

The Mississippi Coast and neighboring states — including Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee and Georgia — are expected to experience a “warmer than average” fall, according to the Farmer’s Almanac.

“A cooler- and drier-than-average September will be followed by an October expected to be two degrees Fahrenheit warmer-than-average with near average rainfall,” weather experts said.

Predictions from the National Weather Service and AccuWeather experts

The Mississippi Coast can expect temperatures about 33 to 40% above average for the fall, according to the National Weather Service’s outlook for September through November issued June 18.

AccuWeather experts also predict an extended summer feel, with temperatures in the high 70s and 80s holding up throughout October, according to a monthly forecast.

“Biloxi’s October 2026 forecast shows daily high temperatures running from 78 degrees Fahrenheit to 86 degrees Fahrenheit, with overnight lows between 62 degrees Fahrenheit and 70 degrees Fahrenheit,” experts said.
