MS Coast spot named highest-rated restaurant in the state, report says
A Mississippi Coast restaurant known for its authentic European vibe — from the food, to the music — is the highest-rated independent restaurant in the state, a new report finds.
Tavi’s Salumeria, located in Gulfport, serves up Italian sandwiches made with imported meats, cheeses, breads and more, according to the restaurant’s social media.
It’s the most loved independent restaurant in the Magnolia State, with a Yelp rating of 4.94 stars, according to an April 14 analysis by OnDeck, a small business lending company.

From the creators of Pop’s Brothers, Tavi’s Salumeria is the brainchild of Octavio Arzolia who has wanted to bring the flavors of his native Spain to neighbors along the Mississippi Coast, the Sun Herald reported. The restaurant opened in September 2024.
