Airbnb says its most in-demand home in MS is on the Coast. Take a look at the waterfront property
Mississippi’s most in-demand Airbnb property for 2026 boasts bayou views and family-friendly, outdoor amenities — and it’s located on the Coast in Bay St. Louis, according to the homestay company.
The four-bedroom, two-bath property, listed on the platform under the name “Waterfront Game Room Ping Pong Outdoor Bar Home” has a 4.99 rating on Airbnb.
This year isn’t the first time a property on the Coast has been named the best in the state. Just last year, a different property located in Ocean Springs, won the honor, according to Airbnb.
Here’s what else to know about the Bay St. Louis listing.
What does the property offer?
On top of having the bayou in the backyard, the Waterfront Game Room Ping Pong Outdoor Bar Home has all the essential amenities, like WiFi, a full kitchen and a washer and dryer, according to the listing.
The property also includes a fire pit, barbecue grill, ping pong table, bean bag toss, darts, a TV with multiple streaming platforms and more.
It can host up to eight people, looks out at the Bayou Lacroix and is minutes away from Old Town Bay St. Louis and the beach.
What do reviewers have to say about the property?
Reviewers lauded the property for its cleanliness, location and friendly hosts.
“The home was beautiful and easy to find, and check-in was also easy. The home was close enough to the casinos and beach, but was far enough away for us to relax by the water and enjoy the peace and quiet. The neighbors were also friendly, which was a plus. I’d definitely book this location again,” one reviewer said.
Where else do people want to stay?
In the South, travelers want to stay near water, whether that be a beach, lake, or river, according to Airbnb.
Here’s what else the homestay company said:
“Travelers are gravitating toward waterfront escapes — lakeside retreats, beachfront homes, and even houseboats — while also seeking out romantic treehouses tucked into the woods, mountaintop hideaways, and glamping experiences.”
These are the most popular locations in neighboring states, according to Airbnb:
- Louisiana: The Padre’s Oceanfront in Cameron
- Arkansas: Tree Loft at Jack Mountain in Bismarck
- Tennessee: Sunset Silo in Wildersville
- Alabama: Romantic Secluded Treehouse in Crane Hill
How did Airbnb find the most popular properties in each state?
The survey was conducted in January by research company Focaldata and asked 2,000 U.S. adults what’s on their wishlist for places they want to stay at, analysts said.
