Pedestrian hit, killed on South MS highway. MHP investigating

A pedestrian was hit and killed Tuesday morning on U.S. 11 in Pearl River County, a Mississippi Highway Patrol news release says.

Miranda Chuter, 45, of McNeill, was walking on the highway when she was hit by a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Kevin Briggs of Poplarville.

Chuter was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Briggs was uninjured. MHP is investigating, the news release says.
