Easter Sunday is right around the corner, and last-minute shoppers may want to plan ahead as some retail stores will be closed for the holiday.

Not all grocery stores are closed for this holiday, so chances are if you need to make a last minute errand, there will be an option available. Easter 2026 is Sunday, April 5.

These are the major grocery chains that will be open and closed on Easter Sunday in Mississippi.

What stores are open on Easter Sunday?

  • Walmart: Walmart stores will be open normal hours on Easter Sunday.
  • Kroger: All stores are open this Easter Sunday, according to a banner on the retailer’s website. Look up the location of your local Kroger for store hours.
  • Whole Foods: The Whole Foods in Jackson will be open limited hours, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Easter Sunday, according to the store’s website.

What stores are closed on Easter Sunday?

  • Target: All stores will be closed on Easter Sunday, a company spokesperson told McClatchy News.
  • Aldi: All stores will be closed on Easter Sunday. The chain also closes all stores for New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, according to its website.
  • Costco: All warehouses will be closed on Easter Sunday. The chain also closes all locations for New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, according to its website. There is one Costco location in Mississippi near Jackson.
