Air show displaying ‘seldom seen’ naval forces coming to MS in 2026. See when, where
The Blue Angels — a flight demonstration squadron of the United States Navy — are performing in Mississippi in 2026, according to a show schedule.
The group typically has yearly shows in Florida, California, Texas and other states but rarely performs in Mississippi.
Here’s what to know about the show and how to see it this year in Mississippi.
What is the Blue Angels show?
The Blue Angels are a touring team of 140 active-duty Sailors and Marines that represent the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps through air shows in the U.S. and abroad, according to the team’s website.
The Blue Angels have been touring since 1946, and this year marks their 80th anniversary.
“By design and by their nature, naval forces operate abroad and are seldom seen by our nation’s citizens,” Blue Angels Commanding Officer Captain Adam Bryan said in a statement. “The Blue Angels have the unique ability to highlight the importance of naval aviation while honoring its historical significance.”
When and where to see the show in MS
The Blue Angels’ 2026 season begins in March and goes through November, according to a show schedule on their website.
They are slated to headline the Wings Over Meridian Air show March 28 and 29 at the Naval Air Station in Meridian, Mississippi, according to the schedule.
Wings Over Meridian is free and open to the public, according to the show’s Facebook page.
When was the last time Blue Angels performed in MS?
The last time the Blue Angels came to Mississippi was in 2018 for the Blues Over Biloxi air show, the Sun Herald reported.
Mississippi is not listed as a stop in 2027, according to a show schedule on the Blue Angels’ website.
