As the fall leaves get closer to their peak in Mississippi, some are beginning to plan cozy cabin getaways to enjoy the season.

“It’s fall when cabins truly shine, with vivid reds, oranges, and golds creating picture-postcard views right outside the window,” researchers said in an Oct. 9 news release shared with McClatchy News.

If you’re looking for the best spot to buy a cabin in Mississippi this season, you’re in the right place. A recent survey by Texas Real Estate Group includes three Mississippi spots on a list of the “most coveted” places to own a cabin in the United States.

The survey was conducted in September and asked 3,003 respondents where in the country they’d most like to have a cabin, according to the release.

These are the three most wanted locations to own a cabin in Mississippi, according to the survey by Texas Real Estate Group.

Tishomingo State Park

Located in the northeast corner of Mississippi, Tishomingo State Park was the most popular place in Mississippi to want to own a cabin, according to the survey.

The park is at the base of the Appalachian Mountains and includes places for canoeing, rock climbing, fishing and hiking, according to Visit Mississippi.

Cabins located inside the park are rentals, but small cabins surrounding the park are on the market, according to the real estate group.

“Set in the Appalachian foothills, Tishomingo is known for rocky bluffs and hardwood forests that glow with autumn color in late October,” the real estate group said.
