These 3 best spots in MS for a ‘fall fix’ are about more than looking at leaves. Here’s why
The weather is beginning to cool down and leaves will be turning colors soon, meaning fall is almost in full swing.
To celebrate the seasons changing, an October survey by car dealership Gunther Volkswagen Delray Beach asked drivers across Mississippi where their favorite autumnal spots are.
Three local spots made the list. Here’s why these places are so great for fall and how to get there.
1. Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company, Kiln
Located in Kiln, about a 39-mile drive northwest from Biloxi, Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company is the oldest packaging brewery in the state, according to Visit Mississippi.
The brewery opened in 2005, becoming the first packaging brewery since prohibition, according to their website. They offer a variety of beers, including the popular Southern Pecan Nut Brown Ale, seasonal and limited-release options.
“The clinking of glasses, the chatter spilling across tables, and the soft shift toward seasonal brews all create a sense of place that feels tied to the season,” according to Gunther Volkswagen Delray Beach.

2. Cups Espresso Cafe, Jackson
Cups has been a Jackson staple for more than 30 years, according to Visit Jackson. The cafe roasts their beans in Mississippi and offers unique-flavored lattes, including the Blondie Latte, Snickerdoodle and Southern Pecan.

3. Campbell’s Bakery, Jackson
Campbell’s Bakery in Jackson is famous for its petit fours, tea cakes and custom cakes and has been an important part of the neighborhood for more than 60 years, according to Visit Jackson.
“Counters stacked with seasonal treats, the faint hum of regulars stopping by, and the air rich with sugar and spice all give it an unmistakably autumn feel,” according to Gunther Volkswagen Delray Beach.

How did car dealership find favorite spots?
Gunther Volkswagen Delray Beach surveyed 3,021 drivers in September to find out which are the most popular independent stops in Mississippi and across the country for “getting a seasonal fall fix.” Respondents reflect a mix of ages, genders and geographic locations, according to the dealership.
