Labor Day is this weekend, signaling summer’s unofficial end. If you’re looking for last-minute plans to celebrate the holiday on the Gulf Coast, we’ve got you covered.

This year, Labor Day across the Gulf Coast will be marked by events reflecting on the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, along with concerts, comedy, art shows and more.

Here’s a roundup events to look forward to this Labor Day weekend on the Gulf Coast:

Weekend Events

Aug. 29-31 — Booker Fest, a performance festival at 100 Men Hall, 303 Union Street, Bay St. Louis. Tickets start at $30.

Friday

Multiple events commemorating the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina will take place across the region on Friday, Aug. 29. Mississippians who are unable to attend one of these events are encouraged to join in on a statewide one-minute moment of silence at 8:29 a.m.
