MS Coast man arrested & charged with intentionally throwing nails, tacks in the road
A Long Beach man was nailed on criminal charges after allegedly trying to damage vehicles with roofing nails, Long Beach police say.
Jody C. Barcelona, 60, was arrested Tuesday and charged with leaving a dangerous substance on a highway. Police accuse him of intentionally throwing roofing nails and tacks into the road to damage vehicle tires.
Police say an investigation has been ongoing since Nov. 23 into who has been leaving nails and tacks in the road in the area of Alexander Road, between Pineville Road and Benton Drive, as well as in the area of Kohler Street.
About 17 incidents regarding nails in the roadway were documented between Nov. 23 and Tuesday, according to police.
Barcelona was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center upon his arrest.
