Robin Roberts, ‘GMA’ anchor and MS Coast native, will marry her longtime girlfriend
“Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts announced big intentions for 2023.
The Pass Christian native discussed her intention to marry her long time girlfriend, Amber Laign, during a conversation with author and motivational speaker Gabby Bernstein about setting intentions for the new year on Monday’s episode of GMA.
“I’m saying yes to marriage,” Roberts said in the clip posted to her Instagram account. “We’re getting married this year.”
In a subsequent video posted to Roberts’ Instagram on Tuesday, Roberts referred to Laign as her fiance following a morning prayer.
Roberts told Bernstein in their conversation that getting married was something the couple had been wanting to do for a long time, but had put it off due to Laign’s illness, referring to a breast cancer diagnosis Laign had received in 2021.
In July, Roberts, who herself has survived breast cancer, shared that Laign had completed radiation treatment.
The couple has been together since 2005.
