A Jackson County native has been promoted to deputy police chief for Gautier
The Gautier Police Department has named a new deputy chief of police, the city announced Tuesday.
Lee Bond, a long-time Jackson County resident, will serve alongside Police Chief David Bever.
Bond started his law enforcement career in the U.S Navy Military Police in 2004. After that, he owned his own construction business before joining the Gautier Police Department in May of 2012.
Bond was promoted to sergeant in the traffic division in 2016. Two years later, he was promoted to lieutenant in the patrol division.
In August 2020, he was again promoted to administrative captain.
“Keeping the residents and visitors of Gautier safe has always been a priority,” Bond said in a press release. “In my new capacity, I am looking forward to working with our Chief and Captains to find new, innovative ways to better serve and protect the people who call Gautier home.”
Bever praised Bond and his service to the department.
“Deputy Chief Bond has been a tremendous asset to the department,” Bever said. “I am looking forward to working with him as we look to enhance the service and protection for both residents and visitors.”
