A deadly fire in the Jourdan River Shores neighborhood of Kiln claimed the lives of a man and woman from Magee, Mississippi, and the pet dog of a survivor.

Two homes were destroyed in the blaze that briefly shut down Mississippi 603 for hours over Memorial Day weekend.

The fire is still under investigation.
