What will new Gulf Coast water park look like? There’s a lazy river, surf simulator, more

A new $70 million water park expansion is coming to the recently renamed Foley, Alabama amusement park, The Park at OWA — now called Tropic Falls — in May 2022.

The water park will feature over 100,000 square feet of indoor space, as well as an outdoor area with a 30,000 square foot wave pool named Big Water Bay, a surf simulator, private cabana rentals and dining area called Smugglers Café.

The indoor area will feature a retractable roof and sidewall, the first of its kind at a U.S. water park, a lazy river and 11 water slides including the Tangerine Scream, a 75 foot high free fall slide.
