$55M coming to Coast for over 70 projects: Better piers, parks, boat launches and more
South Mississippi will see $55 million invested in projects that will bring new boat piers, improve water and sewer service, help grow oysters and repair parks across the three Coast counties.
The Department of Marine Resources allocation bill lists $43 million in GOMESA projects, funded by the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act from gas and oil leasing revenues on the Outer Continental Shelf off Mississippi.
More than $12 million in projects are funded this year through the Tidelands Trust Fund, paid mostly by leases to casinos and some other businesses on the Coast.
Gov. Tate Reeves was in Gautier May 5 to talk about the $2.67 million Gautier Vancleave sewer improvements project that will improve water quality and mitigate damage to fish and wildlife.
