Readers views: Bogus census + coronavirus concerns

Another tactic

I just received my census form for 2020. I opened expecting the usual questions about, household, income, number of toilets, etc.,etc. I was disappointed when I realized that it was nothing but a head count.

I know that population information is important for Congressional redistricting, but what should it matter what race a person is? The only question to be asked as far as redistricting is concerned is, “Are you a citizen of the United States of America?” If the person is not a citizen, then they should not be counted for redistricting purposes.

The question of citizenship does not occur anywhere on the form. Do not be fooled by this bogus census. This form is designed to allow for the counting of illegals in the country (as citizens) so that the liberal government establishment can give illegals, influence in congressional rule making.

We have almost lost this great nation to those who would destroy it’s founding principles. This census is another attack in the attempt to destroy America.

But we can’t just blame Washington. We must also look at the industries who lure illegals to America by allowing them to work in our industries, shipyards and refineries.

Now, you may say “E-verify prevents such employment of illegals.” Well, that’s not necessarily true.

The way companies get around E-verify is that they hire the illegals through subcontracting or staffing companies, and thus the E-verification is not the responsibility of the industry, shipyard or refinery. If the contractor provides documentation or states that all the workers are legally entitled to work in America, nobody is gonna check on it.

Why is nobody gonna check on it? Because industry loves cheap laborers who will not complain or sue about anything.

So as this census favors illegals in this nation, as you will see, let’s put the blame for this crisis exactly where it belongs. It belongs on the shoulders of those who greedily benefit from those who break the law, as well as those in government who seek to ruin America.

This letter is to Congressman Steven Palazzo.

Today, I reviewed the votes for the Family First Coronavirus Act and, by your name, it indicated you were not present. Hence, you did not vote. At such a critical and in unprecedented crisis in our country, I want to know why you were not there.

I live in a well-to-do neighborhood, but taught at a Title 1 school in Gulfport with 90+ percent participation. My former families need immediate support, as do many in Mississippi which has the greatest number of citizens at the poverty level. Regardless of political designation, it is our duty as Americans to give our support.

When Katrina decimated our Coast, political affiliations were put aside. How can any Mississippian not do the same?

As our representative, myself and others are justified to question where were you were, while the House was still in session for this vote, that was more important than serving your constituents at this time.

Stay calm

The stock market has been on an unprecedented positive run in recent times.

All bull markets have corrections. A market correction usually occurs when the big boy investors feel the market has reached it’s peak and is time to take their money off the table, wait for the market to correct itself and then reinvest their funds when market contracts (bottoms out) and begins its inevitable recovery

A market correction is a natural and healthy part of the economic business cycle, and by extension the market cycle. A correction tamps the flames of irrational exuberance that former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan warned investors of during the dot com market.

A stock market correction historically has always been been an inevitability in every bull market. It is a ever present reset button, so don’t let this coronavirus led correction cause one to press their panic button.

This too shall pass.
