An 18-wheeler has jackknifed on Interstate 10 at the Ocean Springs exit, resulting in the temporary closure of the right westbound lane.

The wreckage from the crash Wednesday morning is expected to be cleared by about 11:45 a.m., according to the Mississippi Department of Transportation.

The 18-wheeler rear-ended a passenger vehicle in an eastbound lane near the 48 mile marker and wound up in a westbound lane, said Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Chase Elkins.

Ocean Springs Exit 50 leads to Mississippi 609.

No one was injured.

A separate crash was reported in a nearby eastbound lane, but the highway was cleared for travel, Elkins said.
