If you are planning to vacation in Gulf Shores during spring break next year, you may want to leave your alcohol at the hotel.
Al.com reports the Gulf Shores City Council on Monday unanimously voted to extend a ban on alcohol at its beaches during the spring break season — March 4-April 16.
Last March, the council first banned alcohol on the beaches for the 2016 spring break. The ordinance also enforces a curfew on bar hours.
Police Chief Ed Delmore said the beaches had become a haven for drinking and drugging during the spring break season after Panama City, Florida, banned alcohol from its beaches in 2015.
