The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality issued a water-contact advisory Saturday for Gulfport Central Beach, also known as Station 10.
The beach area extends from Alfonso Drive to Arkansas Avenue.
Advisories remain in effect for Lakeshore Beach in Bay St. Louis, Pass Christian East Beach and Gulfport West Beach.
Lakeshore Beach extends from the Silver Slipper Casino to Pointset Avenue.
Pass Christian East Beach extends from Espy Avenue to Hayden Avenue.
Gulfport West Beach extends from Marie Avenue to Camp Avenue.
These segments of beach are not closed but there is an increased risk of illness associated with swimming in the areas.
When water samples show that levels are safe for human contact, the advisories will be lifted.
Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming not occur during or within 24 hours of significant rainfall, MDEQ said.
