Restaurant inspections in South Mississippi for Feb. 14-20

Three South Mississippi restaurants received C ratings during recent inspections by the Mississippi Department of Health.

There were five restaurants inspected statewide during the period of Feb. 14-20, 2018.

Facilities that serve food are rated A if they pass the Health Department inspection, B if violations are corrected during the inspection and C if the violations are critical. Restaurant management must display the most recent report where customers can see the rating.

For the week of Feb. 7 to 14, the following District IX restaurants were rated C:

Wasabi, 2232 Bienville Blvd., Ocean Springs — A follow-up inspection was held at the restaurant with inadequate hand washing facilities. The violation was corrected on site.

Subway, 2650 Beach Blvd. Suite 30, Biloxi (Edgewater Village) — A scheduled inspection was held at the fast-food restaurant with two violations. One was food not separated and protected, as protection from contamination. The other violation was for a toxic substance that was not identified or stored correctly. Both violations were corrected on site.

Shady’s Restaurant, 1795 Pass Road, Biloxi — A scheduled inspection was held at the restaurant with one violation, food not separated and protected.
