South MS has deadliest week of COVID-19 pandemic so far with 29 deaths added
The Mississippi State Department of Health on Sunday reported 626 new coronavirus cases and 3 new deaths, one of which was in Harrison County.
This has been the deadliest week so far for the lower six counties.
While weekly death totals had held steady in the upper teens, and down to 14 last week, 29 more people were added to South Mississippi’s death toll this week.
Statewide, the death total has fallen over the past four weeks, down to 158 this week from over 200 three weeks ago.
In the lower six counties, there were 81 new cases added Sunday, and the seven-day average remains back above 100.
