Mississippi has 870 new coronavirus cases. 2 more have died on the Coast.
Two more deaths were reported in Harrison County, making it 3 this week and bringing the total deaths in South Mississippi to 75.
Harrison and Jackson counties continue to see cases multiply quickly. Mississippi State Department of Health reported Thursday 50 new cases in Harrison County and 24 in Jackson County, making up most of the 81 new cases in the six counties.
Across the state cases jumped to 870 cases — the second highest single-day total set a week ago on June 25 with 1,092 cases.
There were 10 more deaths reported, bringing the state total to 1,092 deaths and 28,770 cases since March 11.
Presumed recoveries now stand at at 19,388 as of June 28. The total is updated about once a week.
The report said outbreaks of coronavirus in long term care facilities rose to 101, up fro 73 two weeks ago,
Hospitalized in Mississippi are 602 with confirmed cases of coronavirus and another 261 people who are suspected to have the virus.

Hancock — 123 (3 new)
Harrison — 794 (50 new)
Jackson — 557 (24 new)
Pearl River — 245 (1 new)
Stone — 54 (2 new)
Cities across South Mississippi are providing masks to residents to help slow the spread of coronavirus. D’Iberville Fire Department distributed masks to residents Thursday.
Masks provided by Mississippi Emergency Management Agency are available at the Biloxi Visitors Center on U.S. 90.
In Hancock County masks are available Monday through Friday at Bay St. Louis Fire Department, 543 Main St., at Diamondhead City Hall and Fire Department, and at the Emergency Operations Center at 18333 Mississippi 603 in Kiln.
A drive-thru distribution of masks will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on July 11 at fire departments throughout Hancock County.
