Coronavirus update June 7: More than a dozen new COVID-19 cases in South Mississippi

The Mississippi State Department of Health on Sunday reported 236 new coronavirus cases and 6 more deaths.

In South Mississippi’s lowest six counties, 13 new cases were reported. Eleven of those new COVID-19 cases were on the Coast, with seven in Harrison County and four in Jackson County.

None of the deaths reported Sunday were in South Mississippi.

Over the past week, COVID-19 cases in South Mississippi have grown most in Harrison County.

Here are the coronavirus totals by county:

  • George County - 30 (0 new)
  • Hancock County - 92 (0 new)
  • Harrison County - 281 (7 new)
  • Jackson County - 321 (4 new)
  • Pearl River County - 215 (2 new)
  • Stone County - 32 (0 new)
