Palace Casino Biloxi awarded certificate for smoke-free policy
Palace Casino Resort received a certificate of appreciation from the Mississippi Tobacco Free Coalition of Harrison County for leading the way as the first and only 100 percent smoke-free casino in South Mississippi.
The certificate was presented to General Manager Keith Crosby for providing a smoke-free environment for its guests and nearly 700 employees.
The Palace went smoke-free in the casino, hotel, restaurants and the entire property in June 2011 after the resort was expanded and renovated.
"Going 100 percent smoke-free was the right thing to do," Crosby said. "It allows us to offer a healthier, cleaner and more enjoyable environment for our associates and guests. We're proud to be a leader in our market."
Mississippi Tobacco-Free Coalition of Harrison County is one of 34 coalitions in the state educating youth about the dangers of tobacco, encouraging communities to implement smoke-free ordinances and promoting tobacco-cessation services.
