Bayview now open past Boomtown Casino Biloxi

Customers will have an easier time reaching Boomtown Casino over the holidays now that all lanes of Bayview Avenue are open and a first coat of pavement is down.

Oscar Renda Contracting opened the road Thursday, four days ahead of the company's Dec. 15 target date, according to a Biloxi press release.

This ends months of detours drivers had to take to reach the casino while works was under way on the $117 million federally funded program

"This is great news for the heavy traffic volumes that we typically see around IP and Boomtown," said David Nichols, Biloxi's chief administrative officer. "These casinos generate a great deal of traffic from customers, employees and vendors, and we're glad that Oscar Renda met its promised target."

Oscar Renda plans to begin the initial paving of Oak Street in early February and Division Street in early spring.
