He placed a side bet and hit one the biggest jackpots of 2026 at a Biloxi casino
Table progressive games are paying big this year, as another jackpot has hit at Harrah’s Gulf Coast, and the number of jackpots at South Mississippi casinos has soared past last year’s pace.
This time the winner is Harrison M., 22, of Austin Texas — and he won with a side bet and a hand of lucky 7s.
Harrison was at the Biloxi casino Tuesday night, May 12, playing Blazing 7x Blackjack Progressive.
How this progressive table game works, is at the start of each hand, the player makes a standard blackjack wager and then places an optional Blazing 7’s Progressive wager.
Every wager contributes to the growing jackpot pool and the jackpot pays out based on the number of sevens dealt in the player’s first hand and the dealer’s “up” card.
He won with three suited sevens and collected his “big check” jackpot of $506,856.84.
One of biggest wins of the year
This latest win comes less than two months after a player from Indiana won $615,774 at Harrah’s Gulf Coast. The winner was playing three card poker at Harrah’s on March 24 and placed a $5 progressive wager.
The player was dealt a royal flush of diamonds and won what is one of the largest progressive table game jackpots at Harrah’s Gulf Coast and any Coast casino.
These two jackpots also are the second and third biggest of a year that started with a $1.1 million win on a Wheel of Fortune slot machine at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi.
Just how lucky is 2026?
The $1 million win launched the year with a bang and the jackpots have averaged about one a week since.
Here’s how far ahead the South Mississippi casino jackpots are compared to 2025:
- There now are 16 jackpots of $100,000 or more year to date compared to seven on May 15 last year.
- The total jackpots now total $4.1 million compared to $1.5 million at this time last year.
More progressive jackpots await at Harrah’s Gulf Coast, said Justin Hill, director of marketing, and more big wins are posting.
On Sunday, a player bet $50 and won $68,000 on the Dragon Link slot machine.
