New entertainment venue at MS Coast casino pairs sports simulator with upscale bar meals

A new golf, restaurant and entertainment venue is open at Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi in time for the holidays.

The latest in computer sports technology adds a new level of virtual experience at MGM Golf in the retail promenade at the resort. Favorite things to eat and drink while playing sports are on the menu at the adjoining Lounge.

The former Topgolf Swing Suite moved out after parent company Topgolf Callaway Brands announced in September it is separating its business into two independent companies.

That left an opportunity to upgrade the virtual experience, and “I think it’s going to be a big hit,” said Mary Cracchiolo, regional director of public relations for the Beau Rivage.

MGM Golf is a virtual experience for all ages and skill levels. Players can take on the challenge of iconic golf courses, like Pebble Beach and St. Andrews, or compete in dozens of sports and activities like soccer, hockey, baseball, bowling, hunting darts and even footgolf.

The simulators use real world data and advanced computer vision technology to track ball speed, spin, club face contact and other data. The new system allows multi players at one time.

The experience is designed to be especially fun with a group, since three simulator bays can each accommodate up to eight players at one time.

The venue is smoke-free and the food at the “swanky” Lux Lounge hits on what people like to eat while watching sports. Among the specialties are bang bang shrimp, hot honey pepperoni pizza, French onion roast beef sliders, brisket sliders, fried chicken firecracker sliders, wings and Cajun fries. The menu also has shareable snacks like loaded tots and chicken bites.

Signature cocktails are featured at the full-service bar with 10 high definition TVs and live music is scheduled every week. Hours are from 4-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 4 p.m. to midnight on Friday, 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Reservations for the MGM Golf simulator are $80 an hour for up to eight players. All equipment is provided and personal gear is not allowed.

This is the second new restaurant to open at Beau Rivage this year. Coraline’s seafood restaurant opened in June.
