Here’s when Mississippi Coast casinos are reopening after Hurricane Sally
Mississippi Gaming Commission ordered the 12 Coast casinos to close at 4 p.m. Monday, when the track of Hurricane Sally had the storm aiming for South Mississippi.
On Wednesday, the Gaming Commission announced the casinos can reopen at 1 p.m. once they are cleared by the Gaming Commission.
The Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi announced a reopening at 10 a.m. Thursday.
This quick reopening comes after Hurricane Sally landed to the east of Mississippi, near Gulf Shores, Alabama.
The storm surge along the Mississippi Coast on Tuesday caused the parking garage at Palace Casino in Biloxi to flood, as it typically does during a tropical storm.
High water also closed the road leading to Silver Slipper Casino in Hancock County. Other casinos saw little or no impact from the storm other than the closing.
Some of the amenities may take a little longer to open. Palace Buffet will remain closed until Thursday.
