Cam and Cain Roberds were born in Biloxi and grew up on the Mississippi Coast.
The owners of a commercial contracting company on the Coast called C. Roberds General Contractors — and a brewery — are determined to help the area grow. And they now star in the Discovery Channel show “Blue Collar Backers.”
The twins, along with three other non-traditional and non-bank investors, lend their money as well as their experience and other resources to budding businesses.

“We’re blue collar so we’re going and putting sweat equity and cash into small businesses to try to help them get off the ground and get running. Small businesses that we believe in.”
The brothers, who graduated from Harrison Central High School and now have a net worth of about $2 million, said rebuilding the Coast after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 was particularly important to them.
“To be able to go out there and help somebody else, I think it’s just in our blood,” Cain Roberds says in a trailer for the show.
“Blue Collar Backers” premiered last week. Cam Roberds said the brothers will be featured in the second episode, which airs on the Discovery Channel at 9 p.m. Friday.
