The main runway at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport will be repaved with a $3 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration.
The airport’s executive director, Clay Williams, said the main runway was last resurfaced in 1998. The work is scheduled for the spring and will take about three months, he said. The project has been advertised for bids but no contract has been awarded yet.
Most of the work will be done at night to avoid flight disruptions, Daniels said. The runway’s length is just short of 2 miles.
