Construction is nearly complete on the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market and gas station at 2125 Popp's Ferry Road in Biloxi, and the company has 95 positions to fill.

A temporary hiring center has opened at 2125 Popp's Ferry Road, the company said Monday. Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or applications can be submitted online at careers.walmart.com. Most of those hired will begin work in May to prepare for the grand opening.

Store manager Louis Pellissier said positions are open for part-time and full-time hires and benefits may include health coverage, retirement contributions, discounts on merchandise, a stock purchase program and life insurance. A quarterly cash bonus is paid by the company to eligible employees based on store performance.

These 95 new hires in Biloxi will join the company's 24,741 Wal-Mart employees in Mississippi.

Wal-Mart will offer a job to any eligible U.S. veteran honorably discharged from active duty. Since the Veterans Welcome Home Commitment began in 2013, more than 120,000 veterans have been hired at Wal-Mart.
