Southern District Public Service Commissioner Leonard Bentz announced today the Mississippi Public Service Commission approved a reduction in cost of a utility rate for Mississippi Power.
The Commission approved Mississippi Power's request for a reduction in the Environmental Compliance Overview Plan costs. These costs are associated with expenditures required by state and federal environmental regulations like the Clean Air Act.
The Commission has oversight.
“Every penny that can be saved and sent back to the customer is a great thing,” Bentz said.
