The deputy director of the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command at Stennis Space Center is leaving to take a job with NATO in Italy, the command announced today.
Edward C. Gough Jr., a Meridian native, is leaving to take a post as senior principal scientist at the NATO Undersea Research Center in La Spezia, Italy.
Gough, who also is the technical director, joined the command in 2003.
While at Stennis, he served as technical director of the ASW Requirements and Assessment Division of the Chief of Naval Operations staff and advised Submarine Development Squadron 12 on applications of oceanography and environmental acoustics to anti submarine tactics. His department also conducted research and exploratory development in non-linear signal processing, time series analysis, environmental acoustics, and tactical oceanography.
