WXXV is expanding its newscasts

WXXV-TV is expanding its coverage of South Mississippi by adding a half-hour newscast at 5 p.m. weekdays on Fox.

The newscast starts Monday and brings WXXV’s total coverage each weekday to seven hours.

The station started news broadcasts in 2013 with 90 minutes of coverage a day.

WXXV broadcasts are:

  • 5-7 a.m. on NBC
  • 7-9 a.m. on FOX
  • Noon on NBC
  • 5 p.m. on FOX
  • 5:30 p.m. on NBC
  • 9 p.m. on FOX
  • 10 p.m. on NBC

“When Hurricane Nate made landfall in Biloxi, WXXV had nine hours of wall-to-wall coverage without commercials,” said News Director Joe Sullivan. “We informed viewers on-air and online before, during and after the storm to help keep them safe.”
