Gulfport firefighters knock down large house fire

Gulfport firefighters extinguished a large house fire on Gary Street Friday afternoon, deputy fire chief Kevin Lundy said.

Four engines and two command units responded to the blaze at about 2:45.

The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen, Lundy said.
