BILOXI -- The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources will reopen two oyster areas Wednesday morning, breaking a nearly three-week hiatus on the commercial oyster season.

DMR spokeswoman Melissa Scallan said both areas will reopen for harvesting at legal sunrise Wednesday.

The conditionally approved areas:

-- Area II "E" which includes Square Handkerchief Reef and southern portions of Henderson Point Reef

-- Area II "F" which includes southern portions of the Pass Christian Reef

All other current rules and regulations remain in effect.
