Two Coast sisters are accused of spending workers' compensation benefits meant for their deceased father.
Detria L. Vogle, 36, of Biloxi, and Rachel C. Vogle, 26, of Gulfport, were indicted on workers' compensation fraud charges.
The indictment alleges they made false or misleading statements or representations to the Mississippi Guaranty Association to receive the benefits. Neither woman told the association their father had died. They received the benefits between August 2011 and December 2014, the indictment said.
Harrison County deputies arrested the women Monday after a four-count indictment was returned by a Harrison County grand jury.
Both are being held at the Harrison County jail. Bond has not been set for either woman.
The case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant Attorney General Larry Baker and was investigated by Christopher Watkins and Ronnie Odom of the Attorney General's Public Integrity Division/Insurance Integrity Unit.
