Family escapes morning house fire in West Harrison County
A Harrison County family will have much to celebrate this holiday season as they escaped an early-morning house fire without injury.
Harrison County Fire Chief Pat Sullivan said a trailer caught fire about 3:15 a.m. in the 24000 block of Oak Ridge Drive in West Harrison County.
"The occupants of the trailer discovered it to be filled with smoke and they found a room that was on fire," Sullivan said. "Luckily, the two adults and two children were able to get out of the trailer and call the fire department."
He said the fire is under investigation, and noted the trailer was not equipped with smoke detectors.
"Early-morning fires can be extremely dangerous, especially when there are not any smoke detectors," Sullivan said.
