A series of crashes Sunday night had all eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 blocked in Gulfport near the Highway 49 exit, officials said.
Sgt. Damon McDaniel with Gulfport police said at about 8:25 p.m. the driver of a Ford Mustang lost control, spun a few times without striking anything, and stalled in an eastbound lane near the 34 mile marker.
An eastbound SUV struck the stationary Mustang, he said, and came to rest on its side in another lane.
A second SUV hit the first SUV, causing all eastbound lanes to be blocked, McDaniel said.
Six people were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
