Team 'Women Who Work' leads effort of Habitat for Humanity's local Women Build Event

Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast completed the eighth annual Women Build event, with 20 teams totaling 129 female participants. They raised $30,166 with Team 'Women Who Work' being awarded the top fundraising team, raising $2,660. Lydia Pickard was named the top fundraiser, reaching $880. Members of the 'Women Who Work' team included, from left, Pickard, team leader Tina Thompson, Carol Vaughn and Kim Bush. Not pictured: Kathy Lang, Lynn O'Keefe and Ann Hollywood. The site of the home construction project was on North Third Street in Gulf Park Estates in Jackson County. Various team leaders from businesses and city governments participated.
