Beauvoir will raise homemade French flag in solidarity to Paris
In a sign of solidarity for those affected by the terrorist attacks in Paris, Beauvoir will raise a French flag on the property at 3 p.m.
The flag was sewn by curator Dennie Spence, and took a few hours to create, spokeswoman Kitsaa Stevens said.
"The flag was created out of fabric from other flags that have flown over the property," she said. "They are usually sold to the public but our curator thought they could be used for something more meaningful."
The flags used for the creation of the French flag were the Republic of Mississippi Magnolia flag, the Republic of West Florida flag and the First National Confederate flag.
