DIY crew to document Gulfport couple's renovation reality

GULFPORT -- Plenty of us take on do-it-yourself projects and upgrades to our homes, but how many invite a television crew to document it?

Kalvin and Sanja Daniels of Orange Grove in Gulfport have. A crew from the DIY/HGTV show "Renovation Realities" will be on the Coast from Thursday to Nov. 23 filming the couple.

"It's going to be pretty crazy," Sanja Daniels said. "We're renovating our kitchen."

"Renovation Realities," as the name suggests, showcases real-life DIY projects.

"They film you," Sanja said. "You do all the talking and the work."

The Danielses applied for the chance to be on the show, which airs Saturdays and Sundays on the DIY network.

They are the parents of three young children, ages 8, 4 and 1, but Sanja has a plan in place for them.

"Thank goodness, we have somebody looking after them during this," she said.
