Racing for the cup
Braving cool temperatures and a strong north wind, Coast runners gathered in front of City Hall in Biloxi to participate in the Mayor's Cup on Saturday. The 32nd annual event attracted 300 runners for a one-mile run and 5K run downtown.
The Mayor's Cup has become one of the more popular running events along the Coast. The cooler weather was ideal for the runners as they escaped the humidity and hot temperatures.
Jacob Melnick crossed the finish line first in the mile run with a time of 4:56.
